On December 17, President Yu Hongjun participated in establishment conference of Research Institutes on certain countries of Jilin University and Expert Forum on Research of International Affairs. There President Yu addressed the conference and made a report entitled “International Situation and New Changes of China’s Surrounding Environment in 2011”.
Yu Hongjun made a deep analysis of the Middle East situation, sovereign debt crisis in Europe and US, and the situation in North-Easern Asia. He held the views that the present international situation was in a profound transitional period. So it was necessary for Jilin University to establish Research Institutes on Japan, Republic of Korea, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Russia and Mongolia. He hoped that the five research institues could achieve fruitful results, and make contributions for the Party and our country. Dr. Yu also briefed on the functions and basic situation of CCCWS, and expressed his wish that CCCWS and the five research institues could share resources, complement each other’s achievements, and promote academic exchanges together.
