On December 5, CCCWS held discussions with delegation of BRICS Policy Center of Rio de Janeiro Catholic University of Brazil. Among the participants were Yang Yiyong, Director of Social Development Research Institute of National Development and Reform Commission, and Chen Fengying, Director of Institute of World Economy of China Institute of Contemporary International Relations. The discussions were chaired by Dr. Hu Hao, Deputy Director-General of CCCWS.
Yang Yiyong made a briefing on China’s economy, social affairs and decision-making since its founding. On the basis of numerous data and charts, Chen explored the development trajectory of world economy and the prospects of BRICS cooperation. In addition, they answered the questions put forward by Brazilian visitors.

The Head of the delegation of BRICS Policy Center made a briefing on the Center, which is under the auspices of Rio de Janeiro Catholic University and the Municipal Government of Rio. The center has a staff of more than 30 researchers, most of whom are PH.D or MA holders. The Center is composed of 6 research groups, with the professors of Rio de Janeiro Catholic University being in charge of the coordination. The Brazilian delegation members voiced their hope to understand China in an all-round way through their visit and deepen the cooperation with CCCWS.
