CCCWS President Yu Hongjun Participated In The Breakfast Meeting of “China-US Dialogue Forum”

On November 15, CCCWS President Yu Hongjun participated in the breakfast meeting of “China-US Dialogue Forum” co-sponsored by the Chinese Peoples Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), Hong Kong China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) and, the Center for American Progress (CAP). Mr. Dong Jianhua, Vice- Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and, former Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Mr. Chen Yonglong, Vice President of CPIFA, Mr. John Podesta, former US White House Chief of Staff and President of CAP, former US Deputy Secretary of Defense Mr. Rudy de Leon and, former US Deputy Secretary of State Mr. James Steinburg were at the meeting.

CCCWS President Yu Hongjun had a talk with Mr. Podesta, President of CAP.  

 In his keynote speech, Dr. Yu Hongjun reviewed the development process of China-US relations, emphasized the importance of China-US relations, and indicated that China was at present in the critical period of building a well-off society in an all-round way, deepening the reform and opening-up and, accelerating transformation of the mode of economic development; so promoting a long-term, stable and healthy development of China-US relations was in line with the fundamental interests of the two peoples and also conducive to the world peace, stability and development. Dr. Yu also had an in-depth exchange of views with the American side about issues of common concern by both China and US.
