On September 15-16,
Deputy Director-General Jin Xin chaired the Session on “The Transition of the International System in Northeast Asia”. The participating experts held in-depth discussions about diplomatic strategy of U.S. and Northeast Asian countries, economic cooperation in Northeast Asian area, and China’s strategy towards Northeast Asia. The participating scholars generally believed that the transition of the international system in Northeast Asia is a long and complicated process. In recent years, it has been affected by the realistic elements such as the eastward transfer of U.S. strategy focus, tension in Korean Peninsula, sovereignty dispute of island and ocean becoming prominent. Therefore, we should start with forming the regional consensus, strengthening the foundation of the international law of the region, and establishing regional dialogue and cooperative mechanism, so as to continue to promote regional economic integration, explore to build security dialogue and cooperative mechanism in Northeast Asia, and work hard to construct an equal, trustful, harmonious, win-win new order in Northeast Asia. CCCWS Scholar Zhao Minghao made a speech about the transition of the U.S.-Japan alliance at the conference.
