CHINA CENTER FOR CONTEMPORARY WORLD STUDIES

From 26 to 27 July, 2012, in Jincheng of Shanxi Province, Conference on the International Situation and the CPC Foreign Affairs, and Work of CCCWS and Contemporary World magazine was held. Ms. Qiu Yuanping, Minister of the Office of the Leading Group of Foreign Affairs of the CPC Central Committee attended the conference and made a report on the international situation. IDCPC Vice-Minister and CCCWS President Yu Hongjun made a speech at the conference. Mr. Gao Jianmin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shanxi Provincial Party Committee and Vice-Governor addressed the conference.

Conference on the International Situation and the CPC Foreign Affairs, and Work of CCCWS and Contemporary World magazine was held in Jincheng.

The Conference was co-hosted by CCCWS and Contemporary World Magazine, handled by the Office of Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs of Shanxi Provincial People’s Government, and Jincheng Municipal People’s Government. Also present at the conference were the relevant leaders from IDCPC, Shanxi province and Jincheng municipality, relevant responsible people from the Foreign Affair Offices of Jilin, Shanghai, Jiangsu and jiangxi, and CCCWS Special Council-Members and experts, and Special Editors of the Editorial Board of Contemporary World magazine.

Ms. Qiu Yuanping, Minister of the Office of the Leading Group of Foreign Affairs of the CPC Central Committee attended the conference and made a report on the international situation.  

Minister Qiu Yuanping in her report, made a simple and clear and deep analysis of the current features and trend of the present international economic, political and security situation, briefed the opportunities and challenges confronting the foreign affairs of our country at present and for a certain future period, and expressed requirements about how to do a good job in the local foreign affair work under the new situation.

IDCPC Vice-Minister and CCCWS President Yu Hongjun made a speech at the conference.

President Yu Hongjun briefed the new development and situations in the CPC foreign affairs work and the work of IDCPC, and expressed views and suggestions on how to, from a new starting point, promote the coordination and cooperation of IDCPC with the local Party Committees and Foreign Affair Offices, integrate resources, gather strength, better plan and prepare and advance the scientific development of the CPC foreign affair work.

Vice-Governor Gao Jianmin briefed the eco-social development and external exchanges and cooperation of Shanxi Province in the recent years.  

CCCWS Deputy Director-General Jin Xin chaired the Conference.

At the Conference, responsible people of CCCWS and Contemporary World Magazine briefed the work situation of the recent years and work plan for the next stage. The participants held in-depth discussions and exchange of views on how CCCWS and Contemporary World magazine could make good use of the domestic and international wisdom resources, so as to play a greater role in the national overall diplomacy and the CPC foreign affairs, and how to better strengthen the cooperation with the local foreign affair organs and provide service for the local eco-social development.

Contemporary World Magazine Director Wang Jingen briefed the work situation of the recent years and work plan for the next stage.
