Mr. Liu Qi, Political Bureau Member Of The CPC Central Committee And Secretary Of Beijing Municipal CPC Committee Met With Former Prime Minister Mr. Oleksy Of Poland

On May 21st, Mr. Liu Qi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of Beijing Municipal CPC Committee, met with the delegation of Poland Institute for Eastern Studies, headed by Mr. Josef  Oleksy, former Prime Minister of Poland, at Beijing Hall of the Great Hall of the People.

Mr. Liu Qi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of Beijing Municipal CPC Committee, met with Mr. Oleksy, former Prime Minister of Poland.

 

Mr. Liu Qi spoke highly of Mr. Oleksy’s contributions to the development of China-Poland relations. In Liu’s words, the friendly relations between China and Poland have followed a time-honored enduring course. Despite the dramatic changes in the world at large and in the two countries in particular, the friendly relations between the two countries have withstood the test of time and the vicissitudes in international situation, and have continuously developed. Promoted by the top leaders of the two countries, China-Poland cooperation has made great achievements in politics, economy and humanities. In 2011, the two countries elevated bilateral relations to strategic partnership, laying a more solid foundation for further cooperation. Mr. Liu Qi also made a briefing on Beijing’s socio-economic development.

 

Mr. Oleksy expressed his gratitude for the reception and his appreciation for China’s economic achievements. According to Mr. Oleksy, Poland is China’s important partner in Central-Eastern Europe. The establishment of strategic partnership in 2011 and Chinese P.M. Wen Jiabao’s visit to Poland this April greatly consolidated the relations between the two countries. Poland is willing to implement the significant agreements reached by the leaders in pursuit of cooperation in international affairs and raise the bilateral relations to a new level.  

Mr. Oleksy’s delegation started an eight-day visit of China on May 20th at the invitation of CCCWS. Also present at the meeting were: Mr. Yu Hongjun, IDCPC Vice-Minister and President of CCCWS, Mr. Zhao Huimin, Director-General of Beijing Municipal Office of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Hu Hao, Deputy Director-General of CCCWS, and Mr. Yang Hongxi, Research Fellow of CCCWS.
