CHINA CENTER FOR CONTEMPORARY WORLD STUDIES

On June 20^th, CCCWS and World Affairs Research Center (WARC) of Xinhua News Agency co-sponsored a symposium on International Situation Of The First Half Of 2012 And China’s Peripheral Security Situation. IDCPC Vice-Minister and CCCWS President Yu Hongjun, and Vice-President Li Shenming of China Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) attended the symposium, and President Yu made a keynote speech. Mr. Gao Qiufu, former Vice-President of the Xinhua News Agency and Honorary Director of WARC attended the symposium. CCCWS Deputy Director-General Hu Hao chaired the symposium. CCCWS Deputy Director-General Jin Xin, Research Fellow Wan Chengcai of WARC of Xinhua News Agency, Deputy Director Rong Shoujun of Editing Department of Xinhua News Agency chaired the different sessions of the symposium. Present at the symposium were more than 50 experts and scholars from the CPC Central Foreign Affairs Office, CASS, Xinhua News Agency, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, IDCPC, China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), PLA Defense University, Academy of Military Medical Sciences, Minzu University of China, Beijing Normal University, and China University of Petroleum. The experts and scholars held discussions on international and regional situations, Middle-East situation, European debt crisis, and China’s Peripheral Security Situation.
