Mr. Ghasem says that there is a lack of ethic in the framework of western knowledge and power. By making use of the resources in the world, the western countries have invented advanced technology, created new knowledge, and have been able to maintain the frontier of innovative technology. At the same time, the western countries have impeded the transfer of advanced technology and knowledge to the other counties. As a result, developing countries are kept at the lower end of the global industrial chain. He believes that knowledge and technology should be closely related to ethic. The soft power construction with ethic as the core should be the key of a country’s success.
The two sides also exchange views on strengthening cultural exchanges and academic cooperation between think tanks, research institutes and universities. Ms. Mou Hong, Mr. Gao Lianjia, Dr. Lin Yongliang and Dr. Wang Xun from CCCWS were also present in the discussion.
