On Mar.10th 2014, CCCWS Deputy Director-General Dr.Hu Hao met with Dr. Mathieu Duchatel, Director of China and Global Security Program of Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). The two sides exchanged views on overseas citizen protection, North East Asia Security and think tank cooperation.
Dr.Hu Hao points out that overseas citizen protection has become increasingly important in the process of Chinese enterprises “going abroad”. Preventive protection measures should be strengthened. On the issue of
Dr. Duchatel agrees with Dr.Hu Hao’s views on protection of overseas citizens and hopes SIPRI and CCCWS could jointly hold a workshop on this issue. He mentiones that it should be encouraged that the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un adopts economic measures to improve people’s living standards. Economic support and sanctions on nuclear test should be used together to promote denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. He points out that SIPRI is willing to sign MOU with CCCWS to further strengthen cooperation.
