On Feb 25th 2014 in London, Dr. Hu Hao, Deputy Director-General of CCCWS and Head of CCCWS delegation on a visit to UK at the invitation of UK Embassy in China, met separately with Mr. Peter Hill, Director for Strategy, and Mr. Stephen Lillie, Director Asia Pacific, Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) of UK. Afterwards, CCCWS delegation also held discussions with people from National Security Council (NSC), Cabinet Office of UK.
Mr. Peter Hill briefed Dr. Hu and the rest of the delegation on the role of his office in FCO and the current priorities of UK foreign policy planning. Dr, Hu briefed Mr. Peter Hill on the role of CCCWS and the two sides proceeded to exchange views on issues of common interests. Mr. Stephen Lillie briefed the delegation on the latest developments of UK-China relations and the priorities of UK foreign policy in reference to Asia Pacific. Dr, Hu briefed Mr. Stephen Lillie on the current situation in East Asia, the role of ADIZ established by China in East China Sea, etc.
Also present at the meeting were CCCWS Research Fellows Ms. Mou Hong, and Mr. Gao Lianjia, Associate Research Fellows Mr. Li Shipeng, and Mr. Zhang Weijie, and Mr. Stephen Lenard, Second Secretary of UK Embassy in China.
