CCCWS President Yu Hongjun met with UMP General-Secretary Jean-Francois Cope.
After the meeting, Mr. Cope made a report on China-Europe And China-France Relations Under The Context Of European Crisis, and answered questions put forward by the experts and scholars from China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, China Institute of International Studies, and Renmin University of China.
Mr. Cope said that the sovereign debt crisis France was experiencing at present was not only a crisis of Europe, but also a crisis of the world. Actually it was a public debt crisis, a governance crisis. It required major countries of the world like China and other BRICS countries, the US and EU to cope with concerted actions. Thus China and France should consider the impact of the crisis on the relations of the two countries, develop the bilateral relations from a long-term strategic perspective and in an all-round way, should not limit the relations within economy and finance. Dr. Yu Hongjun said that the report by General-Secretary Cope was excellent, and the discussions were frank. The Chinese side appreciated what the EU had done to cope with the debt crisis, and had confidence in the EURO. And the Chinese side would like to strengthen cooperation with the French and European side.
