On the afternoon of October 9^th in Beijing, CCCWS President Yu Hongjun met with Mr. Pierre Defraigne, Executive President of Madariaga College of Europe Foundation. The two sides exchanged views on China-EU relations, the European debt crisis and think tank cooperation.

Dr. Yu Hongjun spoke highly of China-EU relations. He said that China-EU comprehensive strategic partnership has developed into one of the most influential bilateral relationship in the world. Stable, pragmatic and lasting China-EU relations are not only good for promoting respective economic and social development, but also conducive to the world peace and stability, and solving the common problems in front of the mankind, so that China and EU could work together to deal with all kinds of challenges. Dr. Defraigne agreed with Dr. Yu Hongjun. He said that developing EU-China relations is in favor of strengthening mutual complementarities and promoting the solution of the European debt crisis. Both sides also explored the ways of cooperation between the two institutions.
