CHINA CENTER FOR CONTEMPORARY WORLD STUDIES

On 16 June, 2014 in Brussels, CCCWS and Madariaga-College of Europe Foundation co-hosedt an international conference “President Xi’s Visit to Europe: What China Has Said and What Europe has heard”. Mr. Guo Yezhou, Chairman of the CCCWS Council, Ms. Sun Haiyan, CCCWS Director-General, Mr. Pierre Defraigne, Executive Director of Madariaga-College of Europe Foundation, Dr. David Scott, Professor of Brunel University London, Dr. Kerry Brown, Professor of Chinese Politics and Director of the China Studies Center at the University of Sydney, and Mr. Gerhard Stahl, former Secretary-General of the Committee of the Regions of the European Commission participated in the conference and made speeches. More than fifty officials and scholars from the EU institutions attended the conference.

The participants from China and Europe from their respective dimensions express their views on issues such as the core message President Xi Jinping conveyed to Europe during his recent visit to Europe, the message Europe has heard and how Europe understand and show concern over the message, and how to promote further development of China-Europe relations.
