CCCWS Delegation Holds Discussions with Scholars from The Library of the First President of Kazakhstan

On 26 October 2014, a CCCWS study delegation headed by its Deputy Director-General Dr. Hu Hao visited Division for Geopolitics and Regional Studies (DGRS), The Library of the First President of Kazakhstan. The two sides exchanged views on issues related with the proposal of “The Silk Road Economic Belt”.

Ms.Marian Abisheva, Director of Division for Geopolitics and Regional Studies, The Library of the First President of Kazakhstan, says that the proposal of “The Silk Road Economic Belt” is a good proposal to benefit Kazakhstan and Central Asiathe officials or scholars and non-governmental people all expect and welcome the proposal. It not only can promote the development of China and the countries along the Belt, but also can be conducive to the overall economic development of Asia. However, to implement the proposal there exists some problems like inadequate information provision and scholar participation. So more publicity work should be done. 

Dr. Hu Hao said that “The Silk Road Economic Belt” proposal is conducive to integrating the resources of the countries along the Belt, so as to realize the advantage supplementation among the relevant countries. Effective implementation of the proposal requires the relevant countries to make joint consultation and construction. And the final achievements will also be shared by the relevant countries to advance development and prosperity of Asian countries.

Also present at the discussions are CCCWS Research Fellows Dr. Sun Binghui and Ms. Mou Hong, and CCCWS Associate Research Fellows Dr. Sun Yinan and Dr. Zheng Dongchao; and DGRS Researcher Mr. Ruslan Izimov.
