CCCWS Director General Dr. Jin Xin exchanges views with Dr. Astrid Skala-Kuhman, Special Advisor of GIZ.

According to Dr. Jin, The BRI is an initiative aimed at the development of China’s west, joint development of China’s near abroad and the upgrading of globalization to a balanced and inclusive version.  Currently, the BRI has entered into the stage of down-to-earth unfolding,  the BRI Summit in May will sum up experiences and find out weak points so as to plan together the way forward,  bringing the BRI to a higher level. Both  China and Germany are supposed to give full play to their strengths in the context of BRI cooperation, telling the world the “old Silk Road stories” while creating “new Silk Road stories”.

Dr. Astrid Skala-Kuhman said that Germany attaches great importance to the BRI, regarding it as an influential concept for the world economy. In the stage of substantive implementation, the role of China as a group leader is highly expected. Through the BRI Summit, paths for cooperation and plans for joint work are to be made clear. GIZ is willing to work together with CCCWS in the context of BRI cooperation and the framework of Silk Road Think-tank Association (SRTA).

Also present at the meeting were CCCWS Research Fellow Mr. Gao Lianjia and CCCWS Associate Research Fellow Dr. Lin Yongliang.
