CHINA CENTER FOR CONTEMPORARY WORLD STUDIES

On 10 June, 2014, CCCWS and Copenhagen Business Confucius Institute (CBCI) co-hosted an international conference “President Xi’s Visit to Europe: What China Has Said and What Europe has heard”. CBCI President Dr. Thogersen chaired the conference. Mr. Guo Yezhou, Chairman of the CCCWS Council, Ms. Sun Haiyan, CCCWS Director-General, Dr. Bo Lidegarrd, Chief Editor of Politiken Daily and former Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office of Denmark, Ms. Lykke Friis, Prorector for Education at Copenhagen University and former Minister of Climate and Energy of Denmark, Mr. Jesper Beinov, Deputy Chief Editor of Berlingske Daily of Denmark, Mr. Ole Waver, Professor of International Relations in the Political Science Department of Copenhagen University, and Mr. Eric Li, Board Member of China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) attended the conference and made speeches. More than 100 audiences from the political and academic circles and media attended the conference.

Mr. Guo Yezhou elaborates “the core message President Xi conveyed to Europe during his visit to Europe”, while the experts from Denmark express their views on “what Europe has heard”. And both sides exchange views about issues like the future development of China-Europe relations, changes of the international situation, and European integration.
